DSDSM
DSDSM – Digital Smile DesignSM is an exciting new concept in the field of aesthetic dentistry developed by Dr. Christian Coachman.
Making the perfect smile entails delivering good quality aesthetic and functional restorations. However, the results are highly unpredictable as what a dentist wants may not accurately be conveyed to the dental laboratory who actually fabricates the restorations. Dr. Christian Coachman, a world-renowned aesthetic dentist has designed DSD to teach dentists to use modern technology to give predictable and consistent results in smile designing. Digital smile design allows you to design the smile, using basic presentation tools such as Keynote and PowerPoint, prior to embarking on any treatment. The patient’s digital photographs are used and exact dimensions of teeth are measured on a cast. These dimensions are then transferred on to the digital image, after which the new dimensions of the teeth are calculated which are made as per the arch form and smile line. This is then superimposed on the patients face photograph to show the patient the new smile, all this even before starting any treatment. The best part all the mathematics can then be exactly transferred into the patient’s mouth so as to produce the same smile as seen in the digital image. What you see is what you get.
Global Protect Dental along with Dr. Christian Coachman is introducing DSD in India in a revolutionary new business format. You too can be a part of this venture and become a pioneer in the field of dentistry, just visit our Franchise information page.
From the desk of Dr. Christian Coachman, our International Professional Consultant:
“The program aims to introduce the concept of guided planning for aesthetics.
Integrating basic digital tools such as photography and video presentation programs like Apple Keynote and MS PowerPoint, dentists will develop effective protocols and implementation of the Concept of Dental visagism (Morpho-psychology), and to establish protocols in order to customize and optimize the esthetic rehabilitation treatment.
The technique aims to improve the aesthetic analysis and interdisciplinary communication between dentists, specialists, dental technician, and especially with the patient, creating a harmonious smile that meets the functional needs, aesthetic and emotional patient.
Modern techniques and materials may prove useless if the end result did not reach the patient's aesthetic expectations.
The proposed protocol will improve the diagnosis, communication and predictability of Aesthetic Rehabilitations, as well as provide a significant increase in acceptance of treatments provided to their patients.”
From the desk of Dr. Rajiv Verma, our National Professional Consultant:
"The DSD clinical hands-on course is a one of a kind course that I have ever attended in the 25 years of my career. The DSD concept is so unique that it eliminates the use of a face mirror by patients to evaluate their before and after smile. Digital photography and videography is the key to a great Digital Smile Design; it helps us to show patients their new smile on screen and win their confidence in us and the treatment.”
